Spiderman Frog Pillow

I picked this fabric up when I was as Keepsakequilting and new I had to make Jacob a pillow. I just stitched up three sides, inserted a pillow form, stitched up the last side then I clipped every 1/4" or so to make the edges ragged. I think he likes it!

Strawberry Pincushions

These strawberries look so good I could almost eat them. But I would be getting a mouth full of sand! I just love these little pincushions. Every time I go into a quilt shop I'm immediately drawn to the Moda fabric. They have turnovers and jelly rolls - now I'm starting to get hungery - Just kidding. If you have never seen how Moda packages their fabric then you probably have no idea what I'm talking about. They sell packs of precut fabrics in triangles, squares and other shapes. They cleverly named their packs as tempting dessert treats. These pincushions were made from their fabric "turnovers." Won't these make cute stocking stuffers for your sewing friends. The Moda "Bakeshop" has lots of easy sewing patterns. Don't forget to check out the strawberry pincushion patter.

New Fabric

Well here are some pictures of the new fabrics I bought at Keepsake Quilting. I just love the combination of stripes and floral. I can't wait to start making some cute clothes for the girls. The only thing that is keeping me from jumping right into this project is washing all that fabric. Almost 12 yards of fabric!! I think it will take me forever to iron everything. I guess I will have to pop in a good movie and get the ironing board out. Maybe I'll watch Iron Man again. :) Here is a picture of the pattern I bought. I love the American Girl doll jumper too. I could have bought another pattern for the doll clothes but I figured I could just shrink the pattern down and resize it to fit the doll. I've made other doll clothes so hopefully it won't be too difficult.

Keepsake Quilting

This weekend I went to the best quilt shop ever - Keepsake Quilting. My quilter's guild, CVQG, organized a bus trip to Keepsake Quilting and to The Lady's of the Lake Quilt show. We had a great time and the bus ride went by fast because I had great company!

I have always wanted to go to Keepsake Quilting and I finally got to go. As you walk into the shop your mouth starts to water. Every possible quilitng fabric is there. I love how they had everything displayed. The fabric bolts were drapped so you just wanted to touch them all. I headed straight for the sale area and found some great stripped fabric for only $3.99 a yard. I grabbed a whole bunch of fabrics and I plan on making some cute jumpers and skirts for my girls. After I picked out the stripped fabrics I had to find some coordinating floral fabrics. We spent 2 hours at the shop and I could have easily spent another hour there. I can't wait to go back. I've always loved their catalog and now I finally went to their shop.

The Lady of the Lake Quilt show was also great. They had over 400 quilts on display and many vendor. I found a really cute jumper pattern that will work great with the fabric I bought. It was a great day, long but great, and I can't wait for another bus trip.
